Dohrn is seeking a Part Time Dockworker at our Green Bay, WI Terminal.
Pay is $22.12/Hour to start and $25.87/Hour after the first year.
Hours:
Monday-Friday, 4:00pm Start.
Convey freight to and from trailers and storage areas by hand or with the assistance of forklifts and hand trucks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Must have command of English language with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with internal and external customers, perform simple mathematical calculations, handle receipts, read shipping labels, and follow loading instructions.
- Responsible for loading and unloading freight according to DOT requirements on and off trucks by hand or using hand truck, dolly, or forklift.
- Sort and secure items on trucks according to DOT requirements or on the dock to prevent damage.
- Lifting various types of materials such as cartons, bags, cylinders, boxes, crates, drums, pipe, bars, rugs, etc.
- Common material handling tools used: forklifts, carts, dollies, banding machines, shrink wrap tubes, pallet jacks, and tow motors.
- Standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, carrying, bending, reaching, and lifting both above and below waist level required.
- Heavy lifting required.
- Work safely and professionally to reduce personal risk and risk to fellow employees.
- Comply with federal, state, and company regulations.
- Process all paperwork daily associated with the job execution.
- Be available and willing to work; exceptions require management approval.
- Work in a positive, supportive, and cooperative manner at all times. Perform other duties as directed or requested.
- Minimum age of 18.
- High School completion or equivalent.
- Must pass a non‑DOT physical examination and functional screen.
- Must consent to a pre‑employment drug screen; negative result required.
- Must read and write English and perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs frequently and 100+ lbs infrequently.
- Must consent to a ten‑year work history check; gaps of 30 days or more must be indicated and explained.
- At‑will employee throughout employment with Dohrn Transfer.
- Must lift various types of materials, e.g., cartons, bags, cylinders, boxes, crates, drums, pipe, bars, rugs.
- Use forklifts, carts, dollies, banding machines, shrink wrap tubes, pallet jacks, and tow motors.
- Stand, walk, squat, push, pull, twist, carry, bend at waist, reach, and lift both above and below waist level.
- Physically capable of operating forklift, pallet jack, load lock, two‑wheel handcart.
- Lift up, set down, slide or move weight unassisted that could exceed 80 pounds.
- Allow up to 80+ lbs on infrequent basis.
- Sit and stand for prolonged periods.
- Safely enter and exit trailers, vans, flatbeds, forklifts, tractors.
- Operate motorized equipment.
- Perform essential functions under extreme hot or cold temperatures and dusty conditions.
