As a Fiber Splicing & Testing Technician, you will perform advanced splicing, testing, and troubleshooting on Outside Plant (OSP) fiber networks while maintaining QOS standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Perform fiber optic splicing and testing in Outside Plant (OSP) environments
- Complete cable preparation, enclosure builds, and fiber terminations
- Perform maintenance splices, complex splices, and troubleshooting
- Execute work according to Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and construction prints
- Use OTDRs, power meters, and other fiber testing equipment
- Track material usage, red-line drawings, and daily field reports
- Communicate project progress and issues to construction management
- Coordinate with customers and on-site contacts as needed
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and test equipment
- Follow DOT regulations, safety standards, and QOS best practices
- Participate in safety meetings, training, and job-site briefings
- 3+ years of fiber optic or utility construction experience (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting
- Experience with OSP construction and underground fiber placement
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and job prints
- Familiarity with fiber, copper, duct systems, and industry materials
- Proficient with mobile devices and digital field reporting tools
- Detail-oriented with strong quality and safety awareness
- Reliable, self-motivated, and goal-oriented
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Valid driver's license with CDL required
Physical Requirements
- Work performed outdoors and indoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- Use of power tools, fiber test equipment, and computers
- Requires color vision, depth perception, and situational awareness
- On-call availability as required for project needs

Salary: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
