H.J. Martin and Son is a diversified construction company specializing in commercial and residential flooring, glass and glazing, walls and ceilings, commercial doors and hardware, and millwork and fixture installation.
Job Description:We are seeking carpenters experienced in retail casework and architectural millwork installation, that are willing to travel. As a Traveling Casework Carpenter, you will be responsible for installing custom casework projects at various locations nationwide.
This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work within a team to deliver exceptional results.
- Install and assemble custom casework products in commercial settings, including but not limited to cabinets, countertops, trim, and other interior finishes
- Install and finish various types of trim, including baseboards, casings, and crown molding
- Ensure work is completed to high-quality standards and within project timelines
- Work collaboratively with other members of the team, including other carpenters, contractors, and project managers
- Utilize hand and power tools to ensure accurate measurements, cuts, and joinery
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all company and industry safety standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve any installation issues or challenges that may arise during the project
- Superintendent experience welcomed, but not required
- Must be able to travel for 2-3 weeks at a time
Experience/Carpentry Technical
Skills Required:
- Millwork construction industry experience is required
- Ability to read and understand blueprints preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of millwork materials, construction techniques, and industry standards is preferred
- Must possess the skills to multi-task, work in a team setting, and meet deadlines
- Forklift and/or scissor lift experience preferred, but not required
- Valid state driver’s license is required
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background and drug test.
