Industrial Electrical Technician
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Industrial Electrical Technician to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with high and low-voltage systems, motor controls, PLCs, and automation systems, with a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems, including motors, drives, and control panels.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with electrical equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Installation and Upgrades:
- Install and wire electrical systems for new industrial equipment and machinery.
- Upgrade existing systems to improve efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
- PLC and Automation:
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, HMI interfaces, and other automation controls.
- Collaborate with engineers to optimize automated processes and ensure system reliability.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and NFPA standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- System Testing and Calibration:
- Test and calibrate electrical components and systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Use diagnostic tools and instruments to verify system functionality.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with production teams to understand equipment needs and minimize disruptions.
- Assist in training operators and other personnel on electrical system usage and safety.
- Education:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of experience as an industrial electrician or electrical technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with three-phase electrical systems, VFDs, and motor controls.
- Strong understanding of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Familiarity with automation systems, including sensors and actuators.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Licensed Journeyman Electrician or equivalent certification.
- OSHA or NFPA 70E Safety Certification.
- Industrial facility with exposure to high-voltage equipment, machinery, and potential hazards.
- Must adhere to strict safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
- May involve standing, bending, and lifting heavy equipment or tools.
