General PurposeThe Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Retail Associate may be requested to perform additional tasks to achieve customer service and operational goals.
EssentialFunctions
- Practice safety and maintain a safe environment.
- Maintain awareness on the sales floor and ensure clear egress to emergency exits.
- Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional.
- Assist Customers – register‑trained, handle questions, and respond promptly.
- Handle Customer issues courteously and involve Store Leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand.
- Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, replenishing restroom supplies, disinfecting high‑touch areas).
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
- Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery to keep the store neat and organized.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise per company best practice.
- Understand the Loss Prevention Awareness program, Shortage Highway, and merchandise protection standards.
- Show integrity, safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follow all Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock (MOS) policies and procedures.
- Handle cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions accurately.
- Maximize productivity by executing best practices efficiently.

- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, and pleasant manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Use all Store equipment (PDTs, registers, PC).
- Stand, walk, and move throughout the Store 100% of the time.
- Bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
- Some assignments may require different qualifications and skills.
- Stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 pounds.
