What will you do?
  • Aid in the supervision and observation of performance for the dishwashers and porters under the direction of the Sous Chef
  • Ensure food items and kitchen utensils are prepared according to Delaware North standards of quality, consistency, and timeliness
  • Maintain and enforce sanitation procedures and organization of the work area
  • Utilize and sanitize kitchen equipment for the preparation of food items such as knives, slicers, whisks, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, ovens, etc.
  • Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines
  • Ensure workstation and equipment are clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
  • Meet all health department standards for safe food handling and operate equipment safely, determined by position and OSHA regulations
More about you
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Minimum of 6 months–1 year’s previous experience in back‑of‑the‑house food‑service position preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others in a leadership capacity
  • Capacity to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • High school education is desired; participation/enrollment in culinary program preferred
  • Familiarity and experience with knife handling preferred
Physical requirements
  • Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs
  • Standing, walking, bending for the duration of the shift, occasionally pushing and pulling to move equipment, mops, and brooms
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, and whip a variety of foods and liquids
