QC - Lab Technician Nights

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated QC - Lab Technician to join our team on night shifts. In this role, you will engage in quality control and laboratory functions, ensuring the safety and quality of products through various analytical and microbiological testing. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow within the company and gain experience in both lab and floor functions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform microbiological analysis of products, water, and environment to support Pre-Operation sanitation and HACCP program to ensure food safety.
  • Collect samples for product testing, including energy drinks, sweetener samples, raw water, treated water, sanitation rinse water, and post sanitation swabbing.
  • Conduct analytical testing for energy drinks, including CO2, air, volumes, crimp, torque, pH, brix, and flavor for bottles and cans.
  • Perform titratable acidity and HPLC analysis of products for caffeine and preservative levels.
  • Conduct Taste, Odor, Appearance (T.O.A.) analysis of finished products.
  • Ensure accuracy and calibration of all measuring devices.
  • Record and document results from product analysis accurately.
  • Verify batching sheets, review ingredient labels, specs, weights, and regulatory documents.
  • Communicate with batching, production, and sanitation teams to support QA functions.
  • Pull finished goods samples from production for analytical testing and customer testing requirements.
  • Review labels and documents for the release of finished products.
  • Perform QA Line Checks every 4 hours, review GMPs, and adherence to food safety standards.
  • Check temperatures and calibrations of equipment with supporting documentation.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in wet chemistry and aseptic techniques.
  • Proficiency in quality control, line checks, line inspection, and QC checks.
  • Ability to document accurately and conduct manufacturing line audits.
  • Knowledge of laboratory practices, biology, and chemistry.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in food quality or an AA/BA/BS in a scientific discipline.
  • Strong data/documentation and communication skills.
Work Environment

The role involves working in a contract mixing and bottling manufacturing environment with a full brewery. The shift hours are from 5:45pm to 6:00am on a rotating schedule, typically 2 days on, 2 days off, then 3-day rotating weekends. The work is evenly split between floor and lab functions, providing a balanced experience. Employees are part of a team that values internal growth, offering opportunities for advancement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cold Spring, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
