Your Impact as a Lead Kennel AssistantAs the primary caretaker for boarding and hospitalized guests, you deliver daily care, monitor health, and ensure a welcoming experience for pets and owners.
- Provide compassionate care: feeding, watering, exercising boarding and hospitalized pets per schedule.
- Manage admissions and discharges: handle check‑ins and check‑outs, communicate with owners, document feeding/medication instructions, label belongings, and ensure pets go home clean and happy.
- Monitor patient health: walk the kennel area, look for abnormal activity, record findings, and report issues to doctors and technicians promptly.
- Administer medications: give meds and flea/tick control to boarding pets and record instructions on the kennel medication board.
- Maintain cleanliness: clean and disinfect cages, runs, yards, litter boxes, and bowls using proper protocols and PPE.
- Deliver TLC: playtime, walks, or baths for clients who request special attention.
- Confidence around animals and pets.
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and infectious disease control.
- Minimum age 16, high school diploma or equivalent (or in progress).
- English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency.
