Your Impact as a Lead Kennel Assistant

As the primary caretaker for boarding and hospitalized guests, you deliver daily care, monitor health, and ensure a welcoming experience for pets and owners.

  • Provide compassionate care: feeding, watering, exercising boarding and hospitalized pets per schedule.
  • Manage admissions and discharges: handle check‑ins and check‑outs, communicate with owners, document feeding/medication instructions, label belongings, and ensure pets go home clean and happy.
  • Monitor patient health: walk the kennel area, look for abnormal activity, record findings, and report issues to doctors and technicians promptly.
  • Administer medications: give meds and flea/tick control to boarding pets and record instructions on the kennel medication board.
  • Maintain cleanliness: clean and disinfect cages, runs, yards, litter boxes, and bowls using proper protocols and PPE.
  • Deliver TLC: playtime, walks, or baths for clients who request special attention.
What You’ll Bring To The Team
  • Confidence around animals and pets.
  • Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and infectious disease control.
  • Minimum age 16, high school diploma or equivalent (or in progress).
  • English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency.
