The Neurology Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides advanced clinical care to patients with neurological conditions in a collaborative practice model under the supervision of a neurologist. This role includes performing comprehensive neurological evaluations, managing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, and delivering ongoing patient education and follow-up care. This position focuses heavily on the evaluation and management of traumatic brain injury (TBI)-related neurological conditions in an outpatient neurology clinic setting.
Candidatesmust hold active NP licensure in at least one of the following states
- Wisconsin, North Carolina, Missouri, Kansas, or Illinois.
- The company will support and sponsor additional state licensure as needed.
- Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and patient evaluations
- Diagnose and manage neurological conditions, particularly TBI-related injuries
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans in collaboration with neurologists
- Prescribe medications, injections, and therapies in accordance with state scope-of-practice laws
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic studies including EEG, neuroimaging, and laboratory tests
- Communicate results clearly and compassionately to patients
- Provide patient and caregiver education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications
- Conduct follow-up visits and monitor treatment outcomes
- Address patient questions and concerns with empathy and clarity
- Collaborate with neurologists, EEG technicians, medical assistants, and administrative staff
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in the EHR
- Ensure compliance with clinic policies, HIPAA regulations, and state and federal healthcare standards
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in good standing in at least one of the following states: WI, NC, MO, KS, or IL
- National certification (ANCC or AANP)
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and communication skills
- Experience in neurology, neuroscience, or specialty outpatient clinics
- Familiarity with EEG workflows and neurological diagnostics
- Experience treating TBI, post-concussion syndrome, and chronic neurological disorders
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Strong clinical judgment
- High attention to detail
- Excellent patient education and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with physicians
- Comfort working in a fast-paced specialty clinic
