LPN—On Call / Part‑time
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to clients in assigned area.
- Supervise and direct nursing assistants per RN directive.
- Assist the RN in a variety of client care activities.
- Complete delegated work‑related tasks assigned by the RN.
- Administer medications and treatments, document in the electronic MAR.
- Participate in the development of client care plans and implement their provisions.
- Observe and document changes in client behavior/condition and inform the RN.
- Assist with admissions, discharges and transfer of clients.
- Maintain records, reports and documentation in accordance with departmental standards.
- Maintain a clean, comfortable and safe environment for clients.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, mandatory in‑services and other educational programs.
- Perform related functions as assigned.
- Additional pay incentives for PM and NOC shifts, weekends and on‑call positions.
Lift up to 75 pounds with assistance, frequent lifting/carrying of up to 40 pounds, prolonged standing, walking, sitting, occasional driving, use of hand(s) for repetitive grasping and manipulation, frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, reaching, grappling, occasional swimming, oral communication, and ability to distinguish sounds and objects.
Qualifications- Practical Nursing knowledge and skills.
- Understanding of geriatric elderly, developmentally disabled, mentally ill, AODA clients and child/adolescent clients.
- Basic pharmacology knowledge, especially psychopharmacology.
- Principles of documentation and behavior modification techniques.
- Ability to complete basic Medicare evaluations and recognize client needs.
- Ability to carry out a nursing care plan as directed by the RN.
- Proficiency in entering physician orders into the electronic record system.
- Competency with standard medical equipment.
- Ability to perform in emergency situations and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work the required hours.
