The RoleWe’re seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting operations at a corporate location in Green Bay, WI
. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for managing the monthly close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and leading a team of accounting professionals. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of people leadership, technical accounting, and process improvement within a project-based, engineering‑focused environment.
- Lead and coordinate period‑end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and review monthly financial results, including fluctuation and variance analysis for senior leadership
- Oversee key accounting functions including accounts payable oversight, fixed assets, accruals, reserves, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Evaluate accounting practices and recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Partner with operational teams to support forecasting, reporting, and finance initiatives
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities, including mid‑year and year‑end audits
- Support cash flow forecasting and financial analysis for leadership
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of 5+ accounting professionals
- Ensure compliance with established quality, safety, and organizational standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6+ years of general ledger and financial accounting experience in a manufacturing, construction, or project‑based environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and strong Microsoft Office proficiency
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, BAAN, Epicor, or Sage preferred
- Government‑contract or project‑accounting experience is a plus
- CPA certification preferred or willingness to pursue
- Proven people‑management and leadership experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and confidentiality skills
This role is based in a professional, climate‑controlled office environment with occasional exposure to shipyard settings. The position is fully onsite in Green Bay, WI
