Facility Worker

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Performs maintenance tasks including cleaning, light to medium mechanical tasks, transporting, and grounds maintenance.

• Interior: cleaning & shampooing carpets; strips & waxes floors; cleans &/or changes lamps/bulbs/light lenses; cleans furniture, ceilings, walls; sanitizes restrooms, mirrors, replacements, unplugging sinks & toilets.
• Exterior: raking, mowing, landscape maintenance; cleans &/or changes lamps/bulbs/light lenses; snow removal.
• Maintenance & repair: painting equipment (inside & outside buildings), accessories; repair furniture, fixtures, equipment; cleaning equipment; snow blowers, mowers; air conditioners, furnaces.
• Moves office furniture & equipment; assumes housekeeping duties; monitors & removes garbage, paper, recycling, refuse; maintains documentation; compliance with safety & quality assurance standards.
• Security guard duties; sends, receives, unloads, distributes shipments.
• Performs related functions as assigned.

• Shampooer (carpet extractors); snow removal equipment: skid steer, tractor with loader, truck with plow; burnishers and floor machines; vacuum, blower; general office & repair equipment.

• Lifting up to 75 pounds and frequent lifting/carrying of objects up to 40 pounds.
• Intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and driving.
• Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, reaching, grappling.
• Oral communication; ability to distinguish sounds, people, objects at varied distances and light conditions.
• Withstanding temperature changes.

• Methods, materials and equipment used in general housekeeping and maintenance.
• Minor repair techniques for maintaining equipment; determine types of paint & areas to paint.
• Safety issue recognition; sets up & safely uses ladders & scaffolding.
• Effective communication skills, oral and writing; establish & maintain relationships with staff & public.
• Work required hours of the position.
