Job DescriptionCarex is partnering with a manufacturing industry partner to find a highly skilled and strategic Senior Security Engineer to join their in‑office team in Green Bay, WI. This role is ideal for a cybersecurity professional who thrives in high‑pressure environments, excels in advanced incident response, and is passionate about leading security innovation and mentoring others.
What You’ll Do- Lead complex cybersecurity incident investigations, mentor junior staff, and establish standards for advanced incident response.
- Oversee system security operations, making high‑impact decisions in ambiguous or time‑sensitive scenarios.
- Define and guide cyber incident triage strategies, leading the team through urgent and sophisticated threat events.
- Set and influence organizational standards for vulnerability management, including detection, documentation, and escalation practices.
- Conduct advanced threat analysis using cybersecurity defense tools (e.g., IDS alerts, logs), and mentor others on deep pattern recognition.
- Ensure top‑tier incident documentation quality, and influence documentation standards across the team.
- Lead root cause investigations for major incidents and shape the organization’s investigative methodologies.
- Stay current on emerging threats and industry best practices to drive process improvements and knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
- Architect and optimize Microsoft security solutions, resolving complex issues and leading impactful improvements.
- Oversee identity and access management at an expert level, including policy development and resolution of intricate issues.
- Lead coordinated responses to active attacks across cloud and on‑premise environments with high‑level judgment and authority.
- Guide threat protection strategies and initiatives that enhance team efficiency and organizational resilience.
- Independently manage and review suspected policy violations, influencing case‑handling standards.
- Drive enterprise‑wide risk mitigation decisions and elevate the maturity of risk management processes.
- Lead the development and refinement of security architectures and frameworks across the organization.
- Direct baseline and risk assessments, setting standards for analysis and guiding resolution of complex findings.
- Provide advanced security consultations and conduct enterprise security health checks to shape the organization’s security posture.
- Spearhead research on emerging threats, applying expert knowledge to improve incident detection and response approaches.
- Maintain and evaluate the cybersecurity risk register, resolving atypical entries with expert analysis.
- Lead forensic investigations and advanced cyber activities, mentoring team members and setting best‑practice standards.
- Manage endpoint protection policies and intrusion prevention systems while influencing routine security procedures.
- Triage and analyze advanced threat detection alerts, shaping team methodologies and strategic response.
- Offer senior‑level guidance on cybersecurity issues and mentor analysts to elevate team capabilities.
- Lead training sessions and drive the adoption of new security technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Network Security from an accredited institution.
- Microsoft Security certification (SC‑200, SC‑300) preferred, or equivalent demonstrated expert‑level experience.
- Advanced hands‑on expertise in Microsoft security platforms, EDR, IPS, Next Gen Firewalls, IAM, PKI, encryption, and tokenization.
- Proven experience in vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and threat modeling at a senior level.
- Awareness of mobile security, micro‑segmentation, and industrial control systems is a plus.
- Outstanding analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor and lead.
- Strong initiative, adaptability, and the authority to influence security policies, standards, and technical direction.
- Prior senior‑level experience in Microsoft security administration or equivalent environments.
- W2 only, no C2C.
- Must be authorized to work in the US (both now and in the future).
