Company Overview: Hyatt Regency Green Bay is seeking a Banquets Manager. Did you know we are located in the in the heart of downtown and home of the Green Bay Packers? We are the largest, full-service hotel in the market with 241 all-suite guest rooms and 80,000 square feet of space.

Position Summary: The Banquets Manager will be responsible for effectively and proactively monitoring the daily functions of the Banquets Department. This is including, but not limited to, providing support and guidance to the Banquet team, Sales & Events team, and the Convention Services team. This also includes working and communicating closely with all hotel departments and ensuring a successful and effective event resulting in positive guest experiences.

Description
  • Hire, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in the banquet department to ensure adherence to established cultural and core standards.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the operation, specifically during an event.
  • Recognize staff achievements, promote good public relations.
  • Address complaints, concerns, or special requests from guests, clients, and group contacts.
  • Coordinate set-up requirements for hotel functions, as per the banquet event order.
  • Communicate directly with group and internal contact to ensure function details are executed.
  • Ensure the quality and timeliness of all food items.
  • Provide knowledge of wine and spirits when necessary.
  • Attend weekly meetings to ensure effective coordination & cooperation between departments.
  • Manage labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory controls.
  • Inspect the physical condition of facilities and equipment in the banquet area, recommend corrections and improvements as needed.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure coordination & execution of all events.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high energy, positive, professional appearance.
  • Create an environment establishing highest standards of quality service.
  • Administrative tasks may include the facilitation of payroll, reports, forecasts, point of sale procedures, inventory and budget for food and beverage functions.
  • Perform daily walk-throughs in banquet department and all function space and storerooms to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards.
  • Ability to develop ideas for special events and holiday functions.
  • Supervise, empower, lead, coach and motivate the Banquets team towards achieving exceptional guest service results and complete associate engagement.
  • Ability to assist the hotel in reaching top box service scores on our Meeting Planner surveys.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of events by reviewing Banquet Event Order, and ensuring proper communication with guests and other departments.

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of prior experience in a similar role
  • Extensive knowledge of banquet service and labor control, hotel experience preferred
  • Full-time management position that requires full flexibility, including the ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule
  • A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
