We're Hiring!We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Business Office. This full‑time position is responsible for managing the financial transactions Family Services has with insurance companies, patients, and other payers and submitting medical claims to insurance companies and following up to ensure maximum reimbursement while maintaining compliance with federal, state and payer‑specific regulations. This role also involves reviewing patient medical records, ensuring accurate billing codes, and maintaining up‑to‑date records of all billing activities.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing and submitting accurate healthcare claims to insurance companies.
- Generating and sending patient invoices for outstanding balances.
- Assisting patients with billing inquiries and setting up payment plans if necessary.
- Maintaining a detailed audit trail and organized documentation of all billing processes.
Education:
- Required:
High School diploma or equivalent - Preferred:
An associate's degree or certification in medical billing/coding (e.g. CPC, CMRS)
Experience:
- Required:
1+ years experience in medical billing or a related role and familiarity with medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT), and insurance procedures. - Preferred: 3+ years experience in medical billing or a related role and experience with billing software Qualifacts InSync is preferred.

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficient typing and data entry skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail is critical.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staffing.
