Overview
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

We are looking for energetic, creative, passionate individuals who are ready to make a positive difference in a child's life while beginning a rewarding career. Ideal for individuals who love working with children and want to learn and train in a growing field. This is an ideal opportunity for college students and recent graduates interested in social work or related fields such as psychology, human services, human development, speech and language disorders, or special education.
- Work one on one at our center to provide effective therapy to teach new skills and decrease problematic behavior as directed by a behavioral therapist and licensed supervisor.
- Flexible part-time hours with opportunities to increase hours.
- Receive initial and ongoing paid training in the application of applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapeutic techniques.
- Provide energetic, enthusiastic, and playful interactions with the clients while receiving ongoing support and supervision.
- Maintain respectful demeanor, professional boundaries, and client confidentiality at all times.
- Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Candidate must be able to naturally interact to develop rapport with children with a variety of functioning levels.
- Candidate must display a high level of energy, compassion, and patience.
- Candidate must possess the ability to be self-motivated and to work independently.
- Candidate must display strong critical thinking skills and creative problem solving.
- Candidate must treat the child and family with dignity, respect and be non-judgmental while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Candidate must be able to maintain confidentiality and abide by ethical guidelines.
- Must be at least 18 years or older.
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Must pass a caregiver background check.
- Must be able to sit on the floor, move around, lift and/or maneuver up to 50 lb child.
- Must be able to swiftly and effectively respond to aggressive behaviors utilizing learned behavior management techniques.
- Prior experience working with children on the autism spectrum is highly preferred but not required as we will train the right candidate.
