Job SummaryThe PSR Communication Specialist greets, instructs, directs, and schedules patients and visitors, ensuring a positive and engaging experience. Acting as a liaison between patients and medical staff, this role is key in making a favorable first impression on everyone who interacts with Prevea Health services.
What you will do- Facilitate communication between patients, family members, medical staff, providers, and administrative personnel through phone, in person, or via MyPrevea.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of the organization s structure to route calls, take appropriate messages, and proactively seek information to address patient needs.
- Route patient inquiries or complaints to the relevant parties. Collect and verify accurate demographic and insurance information.
- Guide patients or callers with medical concerns by directing and forwarding messages to the appropriate staff.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments. Educate patients about the range of services provided by Prevea Health.
- Operate the paging system, respond to emergency alerts, and notify appropriate contacts. Page on-call providers and communicate with clinical staff using Epic.
- Collaborate with triage and nursing staff to ensure timely handling of all phone interactions.

High School Diploma and/or GED Required - Experience:
1-3 years in customer service, insurance and/or healthcare setting (Preferred) - Skills and Abilities
:
Proficient telephone and computer skills with clear and professional speaking abilities. Exceptional customer service, empathetic and responsive to patient needs, active listening, asking appropriate questions, and continually looking for ways to help. - Ability to multi-task and adapt to fast-paced environments with changing protocols and processes. Ability to interact effectively with staff across the company. Promote teamwork.
