Overview
Part-time housekeeping position (20 hours/week, includes weekends). Schedule currently includes every Thursday and Friday from 7am–1pm and every other weekend from 7am–3:30pm.
Responsibilities- Clean interior surfaces including vacuuming and extracting carpets; clean, strip, wax and buff floors; clean light fixtures, furniture, walls and windows; clean and sanitize resident rooms and restrooms; collect and dispose of waste; sanitize garbage cans and ensure adequate stock of supplies.
- Perform housekeeping tasks as described: extract carpets and upholstered furniture; clean, scrub, strip and wax floors; dust, wash and polish furniture, equipment and building surfaces; disinfect as required.
- Operate cleaning equipment (mechanical and electrical) such as buffers, wringers, scrubbers, extractors and vacuums; clean equipment and request work orders for equipment repairs.
- Report safety hazards to supervisor; climb ladders to reach high areas; collect and dispose of waste and recycling materials.
- Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community events; maintain safety and quality assurance standards and procedures; maintain required documentation; maintain good public relations with other departments.
- Operate vehicles and drive responsibly; assume additional responsibilities as needed; perform related functions as assigned.
- Floor scrubbing machines; disinfectants & sanitizers; carpet & upholstery extractors; vacuums; floor machines/buffers/burnishers; variety of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Sewing machines (if applicable to role) and clothing label equipment; computer usage for work orders.
- High School Diploma, plus one (1) year of cleaning experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License; must pass FBI background check process.
- Knowledge of housekeeping methods, materials and equipment; ability to attend and complete in-services & annual education per State and Federal regulations.
- Knowledge of infection control, standard precautions, disinfectants, and HIPAA; knowledge of safety standards and the ability to adhere to these standards.
- Ability to operate, clean, and maintain housekeeping equipment; ability to lift and transport materials; ability to work safely on ladders.
- Ability to recognize safety issues and report them; effective oral and written communication; ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, clients, staff and the public; ability to work the required hours.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance; frequent lifting and/or carrying up to 35 pounds.
- Intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and driving; use of hands/feet for repetitive tasks; bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and occasional climbing.
- Clarity of speech and hearing; ability to work in varying temperatures and tolerate exposure to cold, noise and vibration.
