CMA LPN Residency Family Medicine

Prevea Health is seeking a Community Health Professional to support Family Medicine Residency clinical care in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Work Hours:

30 hours per week. Sign-on bonus may be available.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for pre-visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, discharge instructions, and performing administrative and clinical tasks as directed by a medical provider. The role helps patients feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the visit.

What you will do
  • Room patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds.
  • Coordinate provider schedules and appointments; enter orders and prepare patient charts.
  • Instruct patients and families as directed within scope of licensure or certification.
  • Assist medical providers with in-office procedures and administer medications/immunizations.
  • Maintain exam rooms and equipment to meet infection control standards; ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies.
Education and Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant (MA) program or Practical Nursing (LPN) program.
  • Minimum of 160 hours of direct patient care experience as a MA/LPN through professional work or student clinical rotations.
  • Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (preferred).
  • Current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (preferred).
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of principles and skills needed for practical nurse or medical assistant to provide patient care.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors to foster relationships.
  • Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems, computer, phone, and office software.
