Position Purpose
Upholds the Credit Union's mission of "We do the right thing one member, one employee, and one experience at a time to strengthen the communities we serve" by being responsible for helping members plan and manage their financial goals, including investments, retirement planning, and risk management. You will work closely with members to understand their financial situation and provide them with personalized advice and strategies to help them achieve their objectives.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Consultation:
Meet with members to understand their financial goals and objectives. - Analysis:
Analyze members' financial situations and provide personalized advice and strategies. - Planning:
Create and implement financial plans for clients, including investment portfolios and retirement plans. - Monitoring:
Review members' financial plans regularly and make recommendations for adjustments as needed. - Compliance:
Stay up-to-date with changes in the financial industry and regulations. - Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of clients' financial information, contacts, and transactions. - Product Knowledge:
Maintain a working knowledge of financial and insurance products and services, including those offered through partner broker-dealers and the Credit Union. - Technical Proficiency:
Effectively use databases and software programs to monitor member accounts, verify transactions, schedule reviews, and perform other administrative functions. - Mobility:
Travel between branches as necessary to meet member needs.
- Licensing: FINRA Series 7, 66, OR 63 & 65 required. Life Insurance license required.
- Experience:
Minimum of at least 5 years working in the field of investments. - Technical Knowledge:
In-depth investment and insurance product knowledge; clean U-4 record. - Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to deal effectively with a diverse group of people in sometimes stressful situations while maintaining a professional demeanor. - Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write routine reports/correspondence and interpret complex documents like Excel spreadsheets. - Detail Oriented:
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for over 90% of work time with a high degree of accuracy. - Logistics:
Must possess a valid driver's license for travel to various branches, meetings, seminars, or conferences.
Physical Requirements
- Office environment with a moderate level of noise.
- Frequent use of telephone, copier, computer, and other office machinery.
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Frequent mental and visual concentration.
- Minimal lifting of up to 25 pounds.
