Process Engineer, Mechanical Engineer

This role is based in northeastern Pennsylvania and is ideal for a team-oriented, innovative, and results-driven Lead Process Engineer who is motivated to contribute to client success while continuing to grow technically and professionally.
Primary Responsibilities- Lead and support process-mechanical design efforts across projects
- Hold team members accountable to quality work product and engineering standards
- Perform QA/QC reviews of engineering and design deliverables
- Support business development and proposal efforts, including concept development, deliverables, labor hour estimates, and cost projections
- Interface regularly with clients and vendors
- Work in manufacturing environments to gather field data and conduct site investigations as required
- Generate equipment specifications and complete construction document packages
- Collaborate closely with contractors and client project teams
- Review vendor submittals and lead design reviews internally and with clients and vendors
- Travel as required to client sites and vendors (up to approximately 25%)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience
- 10+ years of process engineering experience
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, contractors, construction managers, vendors, and OEMs
- Development and review of P&IDs
- Preparation of installation, bid, and construction packages
- Process and utility system piping design
- Experience with paper manufacturing technology (towel and tissue)
- Cost estimating, including labor hour and capital cost estimates
- Construction support and commissioning experience
- 15+ years of relevant industry experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 24 months
- Paper manufacturing process knowledge from pulping through converting
- Familiarity with 3D project execution
- Industrial HVAC experience, specifically room air balancing
- Pipe stress analysis
- Experience with through-air drying (TAD) or other advanced paper making technologies
- Familiarity with Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs)
- Experience with Yankee drying systems, including steam and condensate
- Trim and broke handling systems
- Dust control and collection / process air systems
- Chemical additive and material handling system design
