Transmission & Distribution Planning Engineer – Benefits and Compensation- Base salary range: $90,000 – $120,000

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (required)
- 5+ years of experience in T&D engineering (preferred; related experience considered)
- Proficiency with PC-based applications, including Excel
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass identity verification and seven-year criminal background check (per NERC standards)
- Develop and maintain short- and long‑term capital project plans for transmission and distribution systems (reliability, safety, risk assessment, condition, and load considerations).
- Build, update, and analyze distribution system models using CYME software for planning and operations.
- Support grid modernization initiatives and distributed generation (DG) integration, including system impact studies for solar projects.
- Collaborate with substation engineering, system operations, and technical teams to ensure compliance with NERC O&P Reliability Standards
. - Prepare and review technical reports, project estimates, and regulatory submittals (FERC, NERC, ISO-NE, MPUC).
- Provide engineering oversight and technical support from project concept through commissioning.
- Experience with GIS software and system modeling tools.
- Prior exposure to FERC, NERC, and ISO-NE compliance reporting.
- Strong project management experience, including financial tracking and subcontractor oversight.
- Familiarity with distributed energy resources and renewable energy interconnections.
- Demonstrated initiative to identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities.
