We’re hiring for our Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, and Eau Claire, WI offices. The ideal candidate will have expertise in bridge, retaining wall, and box culvert design. This role plays a key role across JT’s municipal, transportation, and site development groups.
Job Responsibilities- Lead the structural design of projects from concept through construction
- Mentor junior staff and perform quality‑control reviews of structural deliverables
- Collaborate with colleagues while embracing JT’s values and culture
- Communicate effectively internally and externally
- Produce quality work within established guidelines
- Assist with the management of project budgets
- Interpret and adhere to internal Quality Control processes
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum five years of relevant experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Wisconsin or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Mathcad, RISA, LEAP Bridge, MDX, Eriksson Culvert and other comparable structural design software
- Familiarity with WisDOT, AASTHO, ASCE, NDS, AISC, and other structural design codes (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Technical competence to perform project tasks independently
- Knowledge of client and internal software required to complete projects
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to worksites, client meetings, and conferences
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without work‑sponsorship restrictions
- Occasional out‑of‑town and overnight travel for professional development and/or project work
