We’re hiring for our Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, and Eau Claire, WI offices.
Role and scopeThe ideal candidate will have expertise in managing design teams for bridge, retaining wall, and box culvert design under the overall direction of the Director of Structures. This role plays a key role across JT's municipal, transportation, and site development groups.
Job Responsibilities- Working with leadership to establish goals, monitoring, and implementing short and long-term vision for team as part of the annual business plan
- Managing scope, schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, client communications, staffing, and budget for the entire project lifecycle, from project pursuit through project delivery
- Leading and mentoring colleagues on transportation related projects
- Developing and maintaining client and stakeholder relationships
- Communicating effectively internally and externally
- Assist in determining staffing needs, recruiting and retaining staff
- Administering the JT Quality Assurance process for all projects
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- 8+ years of relevant experience with multiple years leading projects
- A Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Wisconsin or ability to obtain PE
- Experience managing structural engineering design projects and team of designers
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations and permitting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid organizational and time management skills
- Self-disciplined/motivated and able to work well in a team environment
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to worksites, meetings with clients, and attending conferences
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the country where this position is located
- Occasional travel out-of-town and overnight for professional development and/or project-related work
