Under general direction, the Training Specialist will design, develop, and deliver training programs that meet organizational needs, ensuring consistency, cost‑effectiveness, and effective use of technology and training resources.

• Design and implement measures for assessing the quality and effectiveness of training programs.
• Develop tools that bridge the gap between theory and practical application, such as manuals, training videos, and slide presentations.
• Implement a sustainable on‑site Train‑the‑Trainer program with local employees.
• Develop an annual training plan and budget in collaboration with supervisors, team leaders, and managers, identifying safety, maintenance, and operational training requirements.
• Conduct training needs assessments and prioritize requirements for instructor‑led and computer‑led training.
• Create and maintain a training system that meets all safety, production, and maintenance obligations cost‑efficiently.
• Maintain a user‑friendly training matrix that records training, expiry dates, and competency periods.
• Evaluate the quality and efficiency of work performed by internal and external trainers.
• Collaborate with management to address changes in the work environment and promote a learning culture.
• Network with internal and external experts to identify best practices.
• Source and assess appropriate training resources and trainers.
• Follow up with participants to ensure progress and meeting deadlines.
• Maintain classrooms and equipment dedicated to training activities and ensure the facility meets specific training needs.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.

• Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Training and Development, Business, or a related field.

• 8+ years of related experience.
• Industry experience is a plus.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform key responsibilities.

• Office environment.
• Some travel may be required.
• Exposure to plant environment may involve extreme temperatures, dust, noise, and chemicals.
