The Department of Public Works is seeking an Engineering Technician (Facilities & Bridges). Help Green Bay maintain and improve our bridges and public buildings! From drafting contracts to overseeing construction, your work will shape the City.
Hiring Range$33.49-$36.44 per hour
Work ScheduleMonday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.
-5:00 p.m. and Friday, 7:30 a.m.
-11:30 a.m., plus additional hours as required.

Responsibilities- Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Architectural Technology, or equivalent.
- Five years related experience.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices and materials of public works and building construction. Knowledge of architectural and engineering principles and practices related to construction projects.
- Good computer skills including experience with ACAD, word processing and spreadsheet software. Good record keeping and problem-solving skills. Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Ability to utilize a computer and the required software. Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and members of the public and private sector. Ability to work the required hours of the position.
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping.
- Ability to focus for long periods of time on projects.
- Ability to reach and climb.
- Ability to climb and hike in rough terrain.
- Ability to climb and descend a ladder.
- Ability to work in varied environmental conditions, adverse weather, and worksite conditions, including heights.
