Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Buyer to manage and optimize our supplier relationships and procurement processes. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining supplier database information, negotiating pricing and terms, and ensuring the continuous supply of goods and materials. This role requires strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of purchasing and supply chain management.
Responsibilities- Enter and maintain supplier database information in the business management system.
- Request quotes from multiple suppliers to negotiate win/win solutions for pricing and delivery.
- Build and maintain a robust supplier base by selecting appropriate suppliers based on price, lead time, and quantity.
- Accurately create, follow‑up, and expedite supplier purchase orders or requisitions.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers, including current, new, and potential suppliers.
- Maintain assigned supplier scorecards, investigate supplier responses, and develop strategic improvements as directed by the department manager.
- Document and measure supplier performance and work with them to improve product quality and on‑time delivery.
- Audit supplier procedures and documentation using ISO requirements as a baseline.
- Address product and service issues with suppliers and provide solutions.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and ERP for daily tasks.
- Research potential new suppliers and their products while maintaining good relationships with existing suppliers.
- Conduct cost analysis of current and future products and suppliers.
- Ensure a continuous supply of required goods and materials, communicating any supply issues that may pose a risk to business operations.
- Negotiate pricing and terms of service to reduce costs while maintaining or improving the quality of purchased goods or services.
- Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market changes.
- Develop innovative procurement strategies aligned with company goals.
- Assess and evaluate suppliers, undertaking performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities.
- Investigate vendor responses and implement necessary improvements as directed by leadership.
- Expertise in purchasing, procurement, and supply chain management.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- 3+ years of buying/purchasing experience.
This role is part of a stable team with government contracts secured until 2028, offering a secure and collaborative work environment. You will work with advanced business management systems and be part of a forward‑thinking procurement team committed to continuous improvement and innovation.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Green Bay, WI.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
