Pet Bather

Overview

Pet Bather Smart’s Professional Bather (dog bather) is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences, salon services, and upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role also supports store cleanliness, recommends solutions for pet parents, and upholds pet safety standards.

• Complete Pet Smart’s Splash training and safety certification program.
• Manage the pet parent experience and outcomes in person, over the phone, and at the sales register.
• Greet pet parents, answer questions, and assist with salon reservations.
• Handle check-in and check-out procedures.
• Independently perform full menu of bath and brush services and standalone services (e.g., nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services) per Pet Smart’s bathing standards.
• Share additional health and wellness solutions with pet parents based on each pet’s needs.
• Maintain a safe environment for associates, pets, and pet parents.
• Take immediate action if a sick or injured pet is identified; transport to the vet as needed.
• Recommend, inform, and sell merchandise and services.
• Maintain total store cleanliness standards.
• Assist and work in other departments as required. Other duties may be assigned.
• Participate in Pet Smart’s culture of Belonging and Recognition.
• Follow all Company Policies and Procedures.

• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, write, etc. Ability to reach with hands and arms; ability to stoop, kneel, crouch; depth perception. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 100+ pounds with assistance.
• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, a wet environment with pet hair, and variable noise levels. Exposure to live animals is common.
