As a Quality Improvement Manager, you will support the operational and clinical aspects of North Range Behavioral Health. Your responsibilities include process improvement, data analysis, training, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Document standard operating processes and prepare routine reports; assist with the development of policies and procedures that lead to compliance and improve programs and processes.
- Design and implement internal surveys related to quality activities for staff. Analyze data and report findings.
- Ensure effective chart review process; analyze and evaluate charts; summarize findings and share them with supervisors and managers; investigate progress notes for accuracy of clinical content and procedure billing codes.
- Identify clinical staff needing chart documentation training; develop training material and conduct training for managers, supervisors, and staff.
- Develop and implement tracking forms and systems to audit chart documentation to federal, state, and county regulations; recommend methods to streamline procedures and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with supervisors to prepare for audits by governmental entities and partners; serve as a leader in such audits.
- Evaluate audit findings of non‑compliance with agency and/or regulatory standards.
- Aid staff in implementing the CAP, including providing training and resources.
- Manage critical incident processes; report incidents according to policy; provide debriefing and support services as necessary.
- Collect and analyze data for agency programs to determine compliance with quality standards; review productivity and assess trends; provide remediation recommendations when needed.
- Identify training needs and conduct staff development activities with an emphasis on improving quality, documentation, and clinical efficacy.
- Work with teams to identify efficiency gains driven by training and quality initiatives.
- Report statistical findings to board members, colleagues, and community stakeholders in an easily understandable manner.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for mental health care providers and addiction counselors.
- May provide oversight for grievance and complaint processes; ensure quality of work meets all relevant rules and regulations and agency policy.
- Research data and information requirements; prepare preliminary analysis and accurate reports/recommendations for action.
- Represent the department in committee, agency, and community meetings as necessary.
- May provide management support for other agency managers as requested by Administrative Directors.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in a health or behavioral health care setting working in quality improvement, quality assurance, or risk management.
- Experience leading groups in the assessment of programs and processes, developing solutions, and implementing them.
- Experience in the development and management of in‑service training and education is highly preferred.
- Federal, state, and local regulations regarding delivery and documentation of behavioral health services.
- Electronic health record documentation practices.
- Rules and regulations of insurance documentation requirements.
- Professional and ethical guidelines as outlined by the State of Colorado.
