Summary:

Middle School Teachers are responsible for instructing students in grades 6-8. They create lesson plans and a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Plan and provide high quality instruction

* Implementing curriculum and instructions that align to the Colorado Academic Standards

* Monitor and evaluate student progress

* Prepare educational records and reports

* Analyze student data and differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs

* Conduct classroom and standardized assessments to measure student growth

* Teach extended learning opportunity mini-courses

* Any and all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree with a teaching certification is preferred, but not required

* Endorsement, certification, degree, passing PRAXIS score, or being highly qualified in Special Education is preferred, but not required

* Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado Teaching License. The Weld Re-9 School District considers candidates pursuing alternative pathways to the classroom

* Candidates must be knowledgeable in the field of instructional technology

Salary and Benefits :

Salary range is $49,250-$67,450 per year AS OF THE TIME OF THIS POSTING depending on education, years of teaching experience, and professional development credits. Salary schedules are updated each spring for the following school year. See the Licensed Salary Schedule under the Employment Opportunities tab. The district provides health insurance benefits including dental and vision, PERA retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability, an optional supplemental 401(k) plan, an employee assistance plan, a tuition reimbursement program, and the ability to enroll in supplemental insurances and savings accounts through a third-party vendor.
