Salary: Salary placement on our Certified Salary schedule is dependent on education and/or work experience. Certified/licensed employees receive up to ten years of applicable experience for salary purposes. Verification of outside experience is the employee’s responsibility.

Responsibilities- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Maintains discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment in accordance with school and county policies.
- Ensures adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum standards; establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, projects, and communicates these objectives to students.
- Uses instructional methods and materials that meet stated objectives and standards.
- Assesses student progress regularly and provides progress reports as required.
- Diagnoses learning abilities and seeks district specialist assistance as needed.
- Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
- Assists administration in implementing policies and rules; develops reasonable classroom rules and maintains order fairly.
- Plans and supervises instructional assistants and/or volunteers; collaborates with department heads.
- Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as required.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs of students or student groups.
- Strives to implement the district’s philosophy of education and instructional standards.
- Respects students’ personal spaces.
- Implements IEP plans while maintaining academic time and motivating students to learn.
- Maintains accurate records as required by law and policy.
- Provides availability to students and parents outside instructional time when needed.
- Cooperates with staff to plan instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Assists in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Accepts responsibility for co-curricular activities as assigned.
- Uses precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Reports injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline concerns promptly.
- Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
- Complies with school and division regulations and policies.
- Maintains open communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
- Engages in ongoing professional growth through reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or higher education coursework.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by building administrators.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree;
Colorado Teaching License
Preferred: Experience in a related field;
Bilingual
Must be able to follow oral and written directions and establish effective working relationships with staff and students. Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
