Minimum Hiring Annual Salary:

$52,612.00

Maximum Hiring Annual Salary:

$56,821.00

To attain the maximum annual salary, employee must meet all minimum qualifications plus:

• 5 (five) years of additional applicable work experience and/or degrees higher than minimum qualification degree. Degrees higher than the minimum qualification degree can be used in combination with additional work experience.
• A combination of related education, on-the-job work experience, certifications and/or licenses that results in a candidate successfully meeting the minimum qualifications of the position, may be considered.

The stated salary amounts are not guaranteed in the event employment ends with Aims during any fiscal year.

Job Description:

The Student Success Coach I serves the central function of providing appreciative advising and coaching to students.

This position provides academic advising and resource referrals to help students make informed decisions about their short- and long-term educational trajectories. This position serves as a success coach for students as they complete their program of study at Aims and transition to the workforce and/or further continued educational pursuits. Although this position provides academic advising and course recommendations, the primary focus is to provide success coaching to the advisee.

In the spirit of appreciative advising pedagogy, the Student Success Coach I engages in student development activities to help students make proactive, effective decisions about their course and program choices. Each Student Success Coach I will maintain an assigned caseload of advisees from specified programs of study, engaging in regularly scheduled meetings, proactive interventions/follow-ups, and otherwise being available for additional questions as the student’s primary point of contact within the division.

Occasional travel may be required.

• Appreciatively advise and coach students dealing with complex academic situations by:
  • explaining Aims' academic policies and procedures,
  • aligning a student’s program of study at Aims with their desired continued education pursuits and future career opportunities,
  • providing unofficial evaluation of transfer credits for course equivalences and possible application to Aims programs of study,
