Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role as a Bookkeeper located in Upper Marlboro, MD. This position will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, including preparing financial statements, managing accounts, and ensuring proper financial reporting. Additional responsibilities include maintaining financial records, and collaborating with the finance team to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts recievable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Process and coordinate payroll with accounting firm and payroll service provider (ADP)
  • Complete month-end and year-end closeouts
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
  • Prepare sales tax, business tax, and/or other required filings
  • Work with CPA firm to provide documentation and support for tax returns and audits
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper - minimum 3-5 years
  • Proficient with accounting software (Quckbooks) and Microsoft office (Excel, word, etc.)
  • Must be able to navigate and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented, organized, and inate ability to problem solve
