Help Desk Technician

Location: Great Neck, NY
Compensation: $65,000-$80,000 (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Status: Full-time, On-site

Overview

A growing IT services organization in Great Neck is seeking a Help Desk Technician to support day?to?day technical needs for both in?house staff and local client sites. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working directly with users, and handling a mix of desktop support, basic networking, and software troubleshooting. While most work is performed in the office, occasional travel to nearby client locations in Nassau County may be required.

What You'll Do
  • Provide first?level technical support for hardware, software, and user issues
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows workstations, laptops, and peripherals
  • Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access changes
  • Support common business applications and productivity tools
  • Diagnose basic network connectivity issues and escalate when needed
  • Install software, updates, and security patches
  • Document support requests, resolutions, and recurring issues
  • Visit local client offices when on?site support is required
  • Communicate clearly with users and ensure timely follow?up on open tickets
What You Bring
  • 1-3 years of help desk or technical support experience
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
  • Familiarity with user administration tools and basic networking concepts
  • Ability to troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and common office hardware
  • Strong customer service skills and a calm, professional approach
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Valid driver's license for occasional local travel
Nice to Have
  • Experience with remote support tools
  • Exposure to VoIP systems
  • IT certifications (A+, Network+, etc.)
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $65,000.00 - $80,000.00
