Job Summary

Our client is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Medical Assistant with a strong emphasis on phlebotomy to join their healthcare team. This role is predominantly dedicated to performing blood draws, specimen collection, and related laboratory support. The ideal candidate will also provide basic clinical assistance and administrative support as needed, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on patients.
  • Collect, label, and process specimens according to established protocols and safety standards.
  • Prepare specimens for transport to internal or external laboratories.
  • Maintain phlebotomy supplies, equipment, and inventory; ensure a clean and organized work area.
  • Monitor patients during and after specimen collection for adverse reactions.
  • Adhere to infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA regulations.
  • Record and update patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Assist providers with vital signs, EKGs, and other basic clinical tasks as needed.
  • Provide patient instructions regarding specimen collection or testing requirements.
  • Support front office and administrative functions when required (scheduling, insurance verification, phone support).
Qualifications
  • School certificate as a medical assistant.
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism.
  • Scheduling flexibility.
  • Strong phlebotomy experience.

  • Technical skills:
    Phlebotomy, EMR proficiency.
  • Soft skills:

    Communication, teamwork, excellent customer service.
Additional Requirements
  • National certification preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced medical office.
