Project Manager – Small Works
Location:
Projects based locally with Head Office support
We are recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking main contractor with exciting plans for continued growth. Due to a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their Small Works Division, delivering main contracting projects valued up to £7–8 million.
This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of projects from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with site, commercial and design teams to ensure successful delivery.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of multiple small works or individual mid-value projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing main contracting projects up to £7–8m from inception to handover
* Coordinating site teams, subcontractors and consultants
* Overseeing programmes, procurement and short-term planning
* Managing client relationships and acting as the main point of contact
* Ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality and environmental standards
* Working closely with commercial teams to control costs and variations
* Identifying and mitigating project risks
* Reporting progress to senior management
About You
* Proven experience as a Project Manager within main contracting
* Background delivering small to medium-sized construction projects
* Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts and H&S legislation
* Commercially aware with the ability to manage budgets and programmes
* Confident communicator able to lead teams and manage stakeholders
* SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications (essential)
