CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) — Night Shift travel nurse in Great Falls, MT; 13-week contract starting March 4, 2026. Provide expert post-op open heart and critical care nursing in a state-of-the-art 10-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.

Qualifications /

Job Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Montana
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN/BSN)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year recent critical care experience; CVICU or open heart recovery experience strongly preferred
  • Clinical proficiency with central lines, chest tubes, arterial lines (A-lines), multiple IVs, and ventilator/short-term ventilation support
  • Strong patient assessment, clinical leadership, critical care decision-making, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care for post-operative open heart and critically ill cardiac patients from admission through discharge
  • Monitor, assess, and intervene for complex cardiac and medical conditions using cardiac telemetry and advanced monitoring
  • Manage invasive lines, chest tubes, and mechanical ventilation/airway support as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary providers, charge nurses, and the ICU director to optimize patient outcomes
  • Precept, mentor, and provide direction to nursing staff, LPNs, CNAs, and support personnel
  • Participate in discharge planning, patient and family education, and continuity of care for cardiac patients
  • Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols
