- Daily operations of a hot plant, including operating the plant to fulfill daily/job orders, scheduling, raw material inventory management, and ordering.
- Maintain accurate time and materials records.
- Perform maintenance activities such as welding, torching, machine lubrication, and component maintenance.
- Operate equipment safely to support daily hot plant activities, including front end loaders and skid steers.
- Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the hot plant area.
- Participate in creating a safe work environment, meet safety goals, and comply with OSHA/MSHA/Company standards.
- Present a professional appearance and attitude; encourage same among all employees.
- Ensure timely asphalt production and verify mix design accuracy.
- Coordinate production and loading of all asphalt leaving the plant and communicate with dispatch, drivers, operators, and customers via radio or phone.
- Service and grease plant parts, maintain cleanliness, and order inventory of plant parts and grease.
- Direct general operations of loader operator.
- Assist other workforce members in production areas as needed.
- Communicate promptly with supervisors about material flaws and potential hazards.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs, maintain regular attendance, and promote an inclusive work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to positively lead, manage, and influence a team of individuals.
- Basic computer skills.
- Safety-minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
- Must pass pre-employment physical exam and controlled substance testing.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekend/holiday as needed.
- Must conform to OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and all company or state rules and regulations.
- Must have current US authorization to work or be able to obtain it prior to start date.
- Mechanical skills including knowledge of machines, tools, equipment, mechanic’s hand tools, power tools, welding, cutting equipment, lubricating tools, hoists, cranes, service trucks, electrical testing, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Previous asphalt production and/or plant operation related experience preferred.
- Welding/fabrication experience preferred.
- Frequently required to reach with arms waist to shoulder height, sit, stand, walk, and handle/grasp equipment and machines.
- Occasionally required to lift, carry, and/or push/pull anywhere up to 50-75 lbs.
- Occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, squat, crouch, or climb, reaching with arms above shoulder height or below knee height.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
