Cardiovascular Technologist; Cath Lab

Position Overview

Assists the physician in managing diagnostic and interventional procedures by scrubbing, managing the sterile field, and monitoring and reporting hemodynamic data. Performs X‑ray duties according to Cardiac Catheterization standards. Receives direction from cardiologists, Cath Lab manager, anesthesia, RN circulator laboratory.

• 2 years Cath Lab experience or graduate of a cardiovascular program, required.
• Successful completion of the Cardiovascular Science Exam, preferred.
• Successful completion of the Cardiovascular Invasive Registry Exam, preferred.

• Current BLS Certification, required.
• Current National RCIS Registration, preferred.
• ACLS Certification, recommended.

• Demonstrates effective communication.
• Knowledge of theories, techniques and practices of Cath Lab procedures and basic cardiovascular anatomy.
• Knowledge of fundamental computer terms related to applications software and desktop PC’s.
• Ability to open, read, and respond to email.
• Ability to manage electronic files.
• Work in temperature‑controlled environment.
• Contact with chemicals, blood‑borne pathogens and infectious disease.
• Able to lift 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques several times during shift.
