Recruiting on behalf of a truly fantastic client - this is one not to miss!
We re on the lookout for a Support Worker with heart, humour, and heaps of common sense to join one of our amazing clients in their beautiful, homely children s residential service based in Thaxted, Essex.
This is not just "another care job." This is an opportunity to be part of something really special.
About the HomeOur client runs a small, family-feel residential service for five wonderful young people (mixed gender), all with learning disabilities. The team has just been awarded "Outstanding" by Ofsted - a huge achievement that speaks volumes about their commitment, love, and high standards of care.
The vibe?
Think: laughter in the kitchen, music playing on car journeys, silly jokes, shared celebrations, and a team that has each other s backs - always.
This is a full-time, permanent role (37.5 hours per week), worked across:
2 long shifts: 7:30am - 10:00pm
1 half-day: 2:30pm - 10:00pm
You'll be doing everything from school runs and daily routines to supporting emotional development, encouraging independence, and just generally being the rock-solid, fun, supportive adult every child deserves in their life.
Verbal communication skills are a must - the young people need someone who can engage, chat, explain, reassure, and maybe even sing along to the radio.
Who We're Looking ForWe're open-minded - experience in care is great, but not essential. What matters most is your attitude. If you're calm, consistent, compassionate, and can handle a bit of chaos with a sense of humour… let's talk.
Here's what's non-negotiable:
Manual driving licence, held for at least 2 years
25+ years old (for insurance reasons)
No more than 3 points on your licence
Able to work the shift pattern and commit to a full-time role
£13.50 per hour
