Overview
Felsted is a leading day and boarding independent school based in a stunning village campus in North Essex. Founded in 1564 by Richard Lord Riche, who had been a Lord Chancellor under King Edward VI, Felsted today provides an exceptional holistic education to approximately 1100 boys and girls aged four to eighteen. RoleFelsted School has a thriving music department and we are currently looking for a Peripatetic Music Teacher of Harp. The school has a strong tradition of orchestral and instrumental music and the students have many opportunities to perform as soloists and in ensembles. Pupils often work towards ABRSM and Trinity exams. We are looking for a teacher with considerable experience of teaching at all levels of ability (particularly in inspiring beginners), and with the initiative, vision and the ability to build on the success of our thriving department and contribute to its further development.
We particularly welcome applications from those who can teach across all ABRSM and Trinity grades. Like many of our peripatetic staff, you may well perform professionally and will certainly have the confidence, credibility and technical expertise to encourage participation to enable each pupil to reach his or her musical potential.
- Teach harp across all levels of ability, with a focus on inspiring beginners.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the peripatetic music program and the school’s music department.
- Encourage pupil participation and help students reach their musical potential.
- Support students toward ABRSM and Trinity exam preparation as part of the program.
- Engage with school ensembles and opportunities for students to perform.
- Considerable experience teaching harp at all levels of ability, with the ability to inspire beginners.
