As a Route Sales Representative
, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of Prairie Fire products to customers on a predetermined route. This role will be customer facing and requires effective route planning, excellent driving skills and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Our Route Sales Representatives must be able to consult with customers to determine the products and/or amount of products necessary to meet the customer's needs.

Route planning and execution:
- Prepare the delivery vehicle each day before leaving the warehouse to ensure it is loaded correctly; familiarize yourself with the route layout and customers’ requests to complete the scheduled route.
- Complete all deliveries on route as scheduled.
- Ensure route optimization by identifying challenges or roadblocks ahead of time to complete the route in the most efficient manner.
- Interact with customers while representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
- Respond with a sense of urgency and professionalism to customer requests and concerns outside of regular delivery schedule.
- Develop a strong understanding of the products being delivered and the proper product handling.
- Provide information about products to customers when necessary.
- Complete customer agreements and route sheets accurately and legibly.
- Perform payment collection from customers; promptly turn in customer payments and daily activity sheets to the office staff at the end of each workday.
- Adhere to the proper utilization of handheld palm units, while entering accurate information concerning the customer and abiding by all rules concerning its use.
- Achieve sales goals approved by the Area Sales Manager or GM.
- Ability to sell and upsell the latest products and accessories.
- Operate delivery vehicles safely; adhere to traffic rules and regulations.
- Perform Daily Vehicle Inspections and report any issues to management.
Prairie Fire Route Sales Reps spend much of their time out in the field delivering to both commercial and residential customers – this means you’ll spend extensive time driving and getting in and out of the route truck.
Our drivers deliver in rain or shine and must be comfortable being exposed to various weather conditions. This role is labor intensive and requires strong physical stamina and the ability to stand, kneel, bend, reach overhead, and get into tight spaces as required.

We expect you to be punctual and reliable as our customers rely on timely, consistent deliveries.
Effective communication and attention to detail will be key in this role given the need to manage customer information and paperwork for correctness, as well as efficiently communicate with customers, managers, and team members.
