Overview

Maintenance Technician A – Transdev in Grayslake, IL is seeking an A-Level Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. This role supports safety, efficiency, and longevity of our fleet.

• Perform repairs and replacements on diesel engines, ensuring optimal functionality.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
• Other duties as required.

• 2 years of experience as a Mechanic.
• ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
• Mechanic’s Tool Set.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions; 100% of the job is performed outside, often in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances on possible sloped ground or slippery surfaces.
• Push and pull objects up to 75 pounds; lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance; occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching to reach equipment.
• Withstand heavy traffic areas, exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.

• Competitive compensation: minimum $26.50/hour – maximum $33.00/hour.
• Vacation: minimum of two weeks.
• Sick days: 5 days.
• Holidays: 12 days (8 standard and 4 floating).
