Responsible for routine golf course maintenance tasks and related duties using mowers, tractors, and other power equipment. Performs manual tasks in the maintenance and construction of golf course buildings and grounds. Mows grass, fairways, rough, greens and tees. Fertilizes and waters grass, rakes sand traps. Changes cups, tee markers and towels. May plant trees, shrubs, plants and flowers. Assists in tree maintenance and removal operations, and cuts brush.
Gathers and disposes of leaves, rubbish, and paper, and performs general clean-up tasks. Performs heavy lifting tasks up to 50 pounds. Drives motorized equipment. Performs tasks that will require walking, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing, reaching and sitting. This position is a 40-hour a week position working one weekend day per week and holidays.
EXPERIENCE
No formal education required. Qualified applicants must be age 18 or older. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions pertaining to grounds maintenance. Working knowledge of tractor operation and implement use desired. Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment relating to the repair of irrigation and drainage systems desired. Experience with fertilizer and/or plant protect ant application.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Anticipated starting rate: $20.75 per hour.
