- Teach in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings under the direction of the EMS Program Director.
- Prepare, deliver didactic and laboratory education that parallels the NHTSA, IDPH, and National Standards curriculum.
- Exhibit an uncompromising commitment to CLC's mission and learning-centered college.
- Perform administrative duties in support of the EMS education program; maintain and update files and documentation.
- Contribute to program reviews and participate in committees, campus activities, and community representation.
- Maintain current licensure, certification, or other professional credentials required for the position.
- Provide accessibility to students and colleagues as expected in a learning-centered college.
- Participate in recruitment, retention, advising, and registration activities; perform other duties as assigned by the EMS Program Director.
- Minimum of three years' work experience in EMS.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Working knowledge/utilization of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
- Current IL or NREMT, EMT or Paramedic credential, Nursing credential.
- Associates degree or higher.
- 5 or more years of work experience in EMS.
- Evidence of being detail-oriented; problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills; strong work ethic with project completion, multi-tasking, and ability to handle high-pressure environments; willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
- Current certifications of CPR, ACLS, PALS, ITLS/PHTLS Instructor;
Certification as an EMT or Paramedic Level I or II Instructor. - Experience teaching at the community college level.
