Job Description:

The Community Education office is looking for knowledgeable and engaging instructors to lead non-credit courses that enrich lives and build practical skills. Our current offerings include automotive maintenance, gardening and outdoor activities, home improvement, current events and history, world languages, religion and culture, financial management and planning, and personal wellness and self-improvement. We are committed to expanding our course selection and welcome instructors with expertise in these areas—or in related subjects that support personal growth, cultural understanding, and lifelong learning.

Adjunct faculty will :

• D evelop and teach in the assigned subject(s) and level(s) in new or existing programs.

• F ulfill administrative requirements, meet established deadline s and complete required training.

• S tay cu rrent in c ompliance training, including compliance under Title IX “Responsible Employee” and, if applicable, Clery Act Campus Security Authority as a condition of employment.

• A gree to and follow appropriate College and department policies and procedures.

Schedule varies. Days, evenings and Saturday hours are possible.

Possible class locations include CLC Grayslake Campus, Southlake Campus (Vernon Hills) , Lakeshore Campus (Waukegan), Braeloch Facility, CLC Advanced Technology Center (Gurnee) or a CLC extension site located in communities across Lake County .

D elivery modes include in-person, virtual live via Zoom, asynchronous, or a hybrid of the aforementioned. In-person is most common.

Required Qualifications

• Clear background check, along with substanti ated subject-matter expertise , effective communication skills, and a commitment to inclusive, learner-centered instruction.

• D o cumented record of successfully support ing learners in understanding and mastering new ideas and skills.

• Competency and/or commitment to learn and use technologies commonly used in instruction at CLC:
  Mi crosoft Outlook for all email communications , additional Microsoft applications, c ommon classroom…
