Job Description- Will develop and teach in the assigned subject(s) and level(s) in new or existing programs.
- Will fulfill administrative requirements, meet established deadlines and complete required training.
- Expected to stay current in compliance training, including compliance under Title IX “Responsible Employee” and, if applicable, Clery Act Campus Security Authority as a condition of employment.
- Will agree to and follow appropriate College and department policies and procedures.
Schedule varies. Days, evenings and Saturday hours are possible.
Possible class locations include CLC Grayslake Campus, Southlake Campus (Vernon Hills) or Lakeshore Campus (Waukegan), Braeloch Facility, CLC Advanced Technology Center (Gurnee) or a CLC extension site.
Possible delivery modes include in-person, virtual live via Zoom, asynchronous, or a hybrid of the aforementioned. In-person is most common.
Required Qualifications- Relevant teaching experience to the proposed programs.
- Valid certifications or licenses for related topics (e.g. Continuing Education credits, position-specific training)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and teach adults successfully.
- Demonstrated ability to teach successfully both in person and online.
- Competency and/or commitment to learn and use technologies commonly used in instruction at CLC:
Zoom, Canvas, Destiny, Adobe Cloud, Microsoft 365, etc. - Ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, gender identities, language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Three (3) years of relevant, successful experience teaching adults at the experience level for which you are applying.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Education or related field.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.

This posting will be used to obtain a pool of qualified candidates. As teaching needs arise, applications will be reviewed for possible interviews. The number of adjunct faculty hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Adjunct faculty hires and assignments are coordinated by the department chairs.
