Job Description
Summary:
Teach courses in the subject field. Develop instructional materials. Assess student learning and assign grades. Attend required Adjunct meetings in the Fall and Spring semesters. Participate in college governance and other aspects of academic life. Maintain current knowledge of subject matter. Adjunct Faculty members are expected to maintain current in compliance training, including compliance under Title IX “Responsible Employee” and, if applicable, Clery Act Campus Security Authority.
- Teach courses in subject field.
- Develop instructional materials, including course plans, syllabi, objectives, and evaluation tools.
- Assess student learning and assign grades.
- Attend required Adjunct meetings in the Fall and Spring semesters.
- Participate in college governance and other aspects of academic life.
- Maintain current knowledge of subject matter.
- Maintain compliance training including Title IX and Clery Act responsibilities as applicable.
- Select, prepare and maintain current curriculum, course outlines and instructional materials (printed and non-printed).
- Deliver course content using a variety of teaching styles and meet all classes as scheduled.
- Provide instructional support to students and refer to campus services when appropriate.
- Provide syllabus with course objectives and learning outcomes, attendance policies, texts/readings, timelines, evaluation criteria, and policy information.
- Observe and evaluate student performance, provide timely feedback, and submit grades electronically by deadlines.
- Maintain records for discipline, office, grades, and division as required.
- Be available for student consultation via phone or email.
- Resolve and document student complaints using College policies and procedures.
- Assist in developing and administering measures of student achievement and use department instruments to measure learning outcomes.
- Conform to approved course syllabus and textbooks; meet scheduled class times.
- Participate in program advisory boards, college/ division/ department meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain high professional ethics.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean or Associate Dean.
- Classes may be scheduled at multiple campuses or online.
- Required:
Master’s Degree in Accounting or Business (including Taxation). - Required:
Successfully passing the Certified Public Accounting Examination. - Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and maintain effective working relationships.
- Competency in technologies commonly used in college level instruction.
- Prior college level teaching experience in Accounting or Business (including Taxation).
- Demonstrated professional learning or certification in evidence-based teaching practices (e.g., ACUE) and data-informed assessment.
- Two years relevant accounting experience.
- Per Load Hour Compensation Schedule
