Workshop Manager

Salary: £55,000 plus bonus

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00 (40 hours)

Are you an experienced Workshop Manager looking to take the lead in a busy, high-performing commercial vehicle environment?

We are seeking a dedicated professional to oversee a large team of skilled technicians, ensuring smooth workflow, exceptional service delivery and strong operational performance.

As the senior team member supporting the Dealerpoint Manager, the Workshop Manager will play a crucial role in managing the full customer journey — from booking and planning, through quality control, to completion and invoicing. You'll take ownership of productivity targets, team morale, process compliance and the continued development of your colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate workshop colleagues, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement
  • Oversee workflow, prioritising tasks and maintaining quality standards
  • Manage customer expectations and ensure timely, accurate invoicing and claim closure
  • Monitor productivity, efficiency and profitability
  • Report on workshop KPIs and contribute to budgeting and planning
  • Handle day-to-day employee relations matters
  • Support training and development across the technician team
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience as a supervisor or above in an HGV workshop
  • Strong people-management and communication skills
  • Ability to identify training needs and drive performance improvement
  • Confident in customer-facing scenarios with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ideally qualified to Level 3 as an HGV Technician
