Payroll Administrator
Location:
Orsett (office-based, 5 days per week)
Contract:
Temporary - 6 months initially (potential extension)
Hours:
Full-time, Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:30
Rate - £15 - £20 per hour
The Role
Accurate input and maintenance of payroll data
Processing salaries, overtime, holiday pay, allowances, deductions, and adjustments
Using Excel to manage payroll data, validation, and reporting
Reviewing payroll data to identify discrepancies before submission
Supporting payroll reconciliations and payroll reporting
Acting as first point of contact for payroll-related queries
Maintaining confidentiality of payroll and employee data
Supporting wider administration, including HR and absence trackers
Working to strict payroll deadlines in a fast-paced environment
The Candidate
Previous experience in a payroll administration or payroll-focused role
Strong Excel skills (formulas, data manipulation, analysis)
Good understanding of payroll processes and statutory deductions
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities under pressure
